CDO Program U10/U12/U14
New for the Fall 2007/Spring 2008 season, HYS is introducing the Coach Development Officer (CDO) program for U10, U12 and U14 Travel teams as well as the Senior In-town Division.
A CDO is a professional coach hired from the Play Soccer organization, who will work individually with each team and its coaches to help you to optimize your practices.
Your CDO will help you run a practice during the first few weeks of the season. The goal of this session is for the coaches and the players to experience professional quality training and to have a model for further practice sessions. Therefore, it is very important that all the volunteer coaches attend the training sessions and work hard to learn from these sessions. The CDOs will also be at the fields for Saturday games, scouting teams that they will be training during the following week, so they will have ideas of what to focus on during training.
You will be notified the week before you are to have your session with the CDO so that everyone will have ample opportunity to be able to attend the session. Additionally, a weekly schedule for the U12 and U14 divisions will be posted on the website. Finally, we have lots of open time available for the CDO’s outside of the scheduled practice time, particularly from 4 to 5:30.
